About Heidi

I live with my husband and five children in Savage Minnesota. I am a born organizer and have a natural desire to organize and enjoy all aspects of the work. Growing up I enjoyed cleaning my room and organizing the family junk drawer. My experience with organizing has continued throughout my life and has been developed with my experience through homes, small business, volunteer work, and social planning. After graduating with a marketing degree from the University of St. Thomas, I helped my husband begin and operate a small graphic design business and at the same time began to raise our family. Over the years I’ve been juggling our small business and raising our children, now ages 5 through 13. I am a firm believer of introducing organizational techniques to children so they can better manage their time and stuff independently. All the areas of my life require systems to operate efficiently. I thoroughly enjoy using my skills to help others get organized. It is my passion!

Home: My family organization began 13 years ago with the birth of my oldest child. Starting a family opens an onslaught of toys, things, bags, diapers, furniture and more. From the beginning I saw the necessity of being organized. I now manage five children’s schedules, school activities, school papers and forms, closets, play areas, storage and general family operations. I have developed systems in my home like cleaning schedules, recipe management, and shopping systems.

Small Business: I have operated an at home business with my husband for 13 years. Including; project organization, filing, financial information, office supply storage, office layout, and developing systems to integrate an at home office into family life, while keeping a professional atmosphere at work. I set up our billing and bookkeeping systems. Over the years this part-time work has given me the ability to enjoy both worlds - work and home.

Volunteer Work: In addition to work and parenting I have found a great deal of satisfaction with volunteer work at our church and school. Currently I publish and write for our School News, volunteer in the classrooms, assist with an art program, help with classroom parties, and more. I also help in various roles at our church, including our annual church festival, church centennial, and in the past volunteered with mother’s groups.

Social planning has been a hobby of mine all my life. I have organized over a dozen bed and breakfast outings for couples and scrapbooking weekends away for women - family and friends. I have also planned numerous large group activities for women, couples and children. I am continually on the look out for ways to get out and connect with other people and have fun. This has afforded me with the knowledge of how to handle many different tasks and I’ve developed systems for handling multiple activities at once.
